I keep reading news articles which discuss the many aspects of the events of January 6th. And I am convinced that nobody has obtained the necessary clarity about them. Nobody is seeing the big picture. Nobody is seeing clearly what actually happened.
Perhaps that will come. Perhaps it never will……..
But amazingly, one week after those events, under relative calm…..journalists, Congress people, and various diarists and tweeters have appeared not to grasp the gravity, the irony, the insanity of yesterday’s impeachment proceedings either.
197 Republican Representatives of The United States House voted to say, on the record, for posterity, as duly-elected representatives of their constituents, that it is perfectly fine that the head of the Executive Branch of the U.S. Government incited an insurrection against them, the Legislative Branch, and sent an angry, armed mob of “protesters” to their building, and into their chambers, with intentions of assassination.
They stated with their solemn votes, that these actions by their president constitute neither high crimes nor misdemeanors which rise to the constitutional standard of impeachment.
Think about that.
And then send these Republican Representatives a thank you, for honoring their oaths to the US Constitution, instead of cementing their allegiance to a madman:
