As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!
IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!

Gargoyles was a Disney cartoon that ran for 3 years, two seasons, from 1994-1996. As I remember it, the show ended rather abruptly, and always felt, incomplete to me, and yet it was one of my favorites. I enjoyed ferreting out the many treasures and “easter eggs” left buried within this show for the eager and the curious.
The overarching theme of the show was always inexorably woven together with the plays of William Shakespeare, with references, and shared characters from Midsummer Night’s Dream to Macbeth. These connections, often to the irritation of my teachers, I often found ways to include in research projects for both Senior English And History. My teachers seemed to share the opinion that I ought to have outgrown cartoons long since. Of Course, since this came from the same English teacher who gave me extra credit for pointing out references to The Godfather, in certain episodes of The Simpsons, that argument carried very little water with me.
Of course, most Die-hard fans of the show will also point out what many of us call “The Star Trek Connections.” Referring to the very plethora of Star Trek Alums who also had a part, large or small, in this small, off-beat cartoon. This small 2 season cartoon, manages to span 4 series of Star Trek, from the original series, to Voyager.
Jonathan Frakes: David Xanatos
Marina Sirtis: Demona, Domonique Destine, and Margot Yale
Brent Spiner: Puck
Michael Dorn: ColdStone And Taurus
LeVar Burton: Anansi and Poacher 2
Colm Meany: Mr. Dugan
Kate Mulgrew: Titania and Anastasia Renard
Nichelle Nichols: Dianne Maza
Avery Brooks: Nokkar
And these are just the ones that I was able to find. I am certain that there are several that I have missed.
I had a point, when I began this random rant, and that was that Gargoyles is now available to a whole new generation, thanks to the Magic of Disney Plus~
