Laziness is the Mother of Invention
I didn't imagine I was doing anything original when I used my hula hoop as a stargazing, planet tracking, tool to align with the plane of the ecliptic. This thing:
I'd stand in the middle of the hoop and line things up, magical applied science. Well, the hula hoop was magical, though my big sister was the master of the silly thing when they first came out. If you haven't tried it, on a clear bright night it does feel like magic. About laziness, smart people work out solutions to save time.

Île Saint-Paul is an island forming part of the French Southern and Antarctic Lands in the Indian Ocean, with an area of 6 km2 (2.3 sq mi; 1,500 acres).
The island is located south of the larger Île Amsterdam, and southeast of Réunion. It is the nearest landfall to the antipode of the geographic center of the contiguous United States.
It is an important breeding site for seabirds. A scientific research cabin on the island is used for scientific or ecological short campaigns, but there is no permanent population. It is under the authority of a senior administrator on Réunion. -- Wikipedia (edited)
