In WAYR?, I note what I’m reading and comment...you note what you are reading and comment. Occasionally, I may add a section or a link related to books…I’ve been in more than a funk since I went to Detroit for my first cousin’s funeral...for things that have nothing to do with that funeral, quite frankly.
Need to pull myself out of it. Have read hardly anything.
I am reading:
Kitchen Confidential : Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly by Anthony Bourdain
Hangman’s Holiday by Dorothy L. Sayers- I first began reading the Lord Peter Wimsey mysteries of Sayers when my Granddad worked at Somerset Mall in suburban Detroit and would take the boxes of books with the covers removed home; there were always a few of Sayers’s Lord Peter Wimsey mysteries in those boxes and I think that I’ve read the entire series...but it has been a long time...I was also fascinated by her translation of The Divine Comedy as a teenager...I saw Hangman’s Holiday on the racks in a used bookstore looking for other things and figured...why not?
Lord Peter Wimsey mysteries were a part of my childhood that I would occasionally read while listening to the mystery theater radio show on...was it the CBS radio network?...had the theme music of doom to it...
