See the soul beneath the delusion
As Thanksgiving nears - I have observed in our current society the extremes both left and right often share the same memes. In their pompous expositions both aspire to the same lofty goals. At our core we are one. We tribalize ourselves for many reasons, but if we find our true selves to unite as family and friends during this holiday, we can share joy. Enjoy the food, the football, the board games, the retelling of the oldest of family tales, enjoy a precious moment of togetherness - unfortunately the unvaccinated have chosen to place us all at risk - as my boys would say: look at the players, the risks, and make a game time decision - do it from a place of empathy and love
Yesterday’s thoughts
AM Angst
On this morning I arose
Back to a world so ill
My vaccine shield
no magic pill
bubble of protection
still humanity bent to kill
Wish pray plead beg
health for the future
futile pleas heedless world
only greed is sure
My health my joy empty
With a grandchild to assure
Soul and mind in malaise
a chillness in my toes
Winter a welcome time
Frost a pause to compose
Why thrash in senseless fro
Sip my cup in calm repose
Hysteria panic never quells
a world screaming in alarm
Take a break exist in be
A self, afflicted with no harm
Resolve will be required
Not tools of vitriol but charm
Wounds healed by loving arm
I wrote a novel (The Solace of Solitude) to entertain my wife and it did, now others are enjoying it. She didn’t enjoy my non-sequential multi-generation more serious novel Null Stillness, as much.
Take a break from the frustration of our corporate owned Senator, climate platitudes, and racially infused voters. Enjoy a pause while reading The Solace of Solitude on Kindle shiresteve Davis
