Living in NE Wisconsin, I am surrounded by Packers’ worship in all settings, all the time. So, naturally it is front page news that Aaron Rodgers tested positive for COVID. And that, even though he said in August that he was “immunized” he actually was unvaccinated. He was “immunized” by some homeopathic technique that he said his doctor administered. The league has considered him “unvaccinated” after he tried to get his status changed to “vaccinated” based on proof of this treatment quackery.
Viewing Rodgers as an arrogant human being as I do, I guess I am not surprised. But I am reading that there are many twitter responses to this announcement, including some of photos with him unmasked during indoor interviews, which would be a violation of NFL COVID policy for an unvaccinated player (if the photos are authentic, of course). As one might expect, the coach is saying they followed all NFL policies. But do you suppose there could have been a bit of turning of a blind eye for the team’s “Superstar”?
So much for the idea of a team looking out for and supporting one another, I suppose. What galls me most is his truth-evading statement about having been “immunized” was followed by a long soliloquy about how it’s an individual’s choice, and he doesn’t judge those who choose not to be immunized.
