So, there's a ten-fold increase in COVID hospitalizations if you're not vaccinated, except if you're over 65, then it's a 15-fold increase.
Deaths per 100,000:
12-17, Fully Vaccinated, 0.0; Not Fully Vaccinated 0.0
18-49, Fully Vaccinated, 0.0; Not Fully Vaccinated 0.4
50-64, Fully Vaccinated, 0.3; Not Fully Vaccinated 2.6
65+ , Fully Vaccinated, 2.5; Not Fully Vaccinated 35.8
Note this is not vaccinates vs. unvaccinated, this is vaccinated vs not fully vaccinated. Those who only had one shot count in the latter category. Since one dose gives you some immunity, the cases per 100,000 for the unvaccinated are probably even higher.
It’s a good article. I’d share the graphs if I could.
The Weekly Adjusted Rate also has useful information.
In May, the weekly adjusted rate was 18.3 for fully vaccinated, but 260.5 for the not fully vaccinated. In June, the weekly adjusted rate was 3.6 for the fully vaccinated, but 33 for the not fully vaccinated. In October, the weekly adjusted rate was 200.7 for the fully vaccinated, but 881.6 for the not fully vaccinated.
So the bad news, is yes, it is getting worse out there. the good news is that vaccines are working. Stay safe out there. I am planning on visiting my fully vaccinated family for Christmas, but we’re getting COVID tests before we go.
