The Daily Bucket is a nature refuge. We amicably discuss animals, weather, climate, soil, plants, waters and note life’s patterns.
We invite you to note what you are seeing around you in your own part of the world, and to share your observations in the comments below.
Each note is a record that we can refer to in the future as we try to understand the phenological patterns that are quietly unwinding around us. To have the Daily Bucket in your Activity Stream, visit Backyard Science’s profile page and click on Follow.

The big Sierra Nevada winter storm that came in a few days ago put less than a foot of snow on the ground here in Quincy, CA. We had cloudy days for the past two, then it started raining late last night and is currently raining heavily. Forecast for the rest of today and the next two, in order: rain, snow, sun.
Then it’s supposed to be sunny and mostly sunny all the way to next Monday. For Quincy, weather forecasts more than two days out aren’t very reliable.
I hope to get out and get around on the sunny days, get some photos so I have something new. Other than that, over to you.
This is an Open Thread. It’s Your Turn.
What have you noted happening in your area or travels? As usual post your observations as well as their general location in the comments.
Thank you.
