It’s finally here! With the last of 2020’s tossup races at last resolved with Republican Claudia Tenney’s win over Democratic Rep. Anthony Brindisi in New York’s 22nd Congressional District, we are now ready to announce the winner of the 2020 Daily Kos Elections prediction contest: Inoverhishead! Out of a possible 37 points, Inoverhishead turned out to be anything but and scored the highest with 31. The runners-up, UpstateNYer and deadpan, scored 30 and 29 points each, respectively. All three winners will receive $50 gift cards to Green’s Bakery!
As you may recall, we asked you to pick the winners of three Senate and 27 House races that we regarded as “Tossups” on Election Day, as well as seven downballot deep cuts. As a tiebreaker question (which ultimately was not needed to determine the top three), we also asked you to predict the vote totals in Indiana’s three-way gubernatorial election. The closest guesses in this category came from azuzuuuu and shorterpulse, whose identical entries were just 1.9 points off the actual totals. If you’d like to see how you stacked up, you can find our full spreadsheet of the results here.
We received nearly 1,000 contest entries, a whopping total! We’ll be in touch with the winners. Thanks again to all who entered, and a special thank you to our generous sponsor, GreensBabka.com!
P.S. Let us know how you did in comments, and be sure to try your hand again in our next babka contest this fall.
