A New Jersey gym owner, who is charged with storming the U.S. Capitol and punching a police officer, is a QAnon believer who allegedly boasted he would “go again” and has previously threatened a congresswoman, authorities said in court documents Wednesday.
In seeking to have Scott Fairlamb, of Sussex, detained pending the outcome of his criminal case, prosecutors said Fairlamb’s actions — most of which were caught on video — on Jan. 6 “show an absolute disregard for the rule of law coupled with a willingness to engage in violence.”

After being one of the first people to breach the western front of the Capitol, Fairlamb later harassed a line of police officers outside the building by shouting in their faces and blocking their movement, according to citizen video and body camera footage.
“Are you an American? Act like a f---ing one!” Fairlamb can be heard shouting, according to the video. ... “You guys have no idea what the f--k you’re doing!”

Fairlamb, who has leukemia, has been in custody in New Jersey since his arrest last month and recently suffered a heart attack while in jail in Hudson County, his attorney, Harley Breite, said Friday.
A federal judge in New Jersey initially ordered Fairlamb released on $50,000 bond last month with electronic monitoring, but detained him after prosecutors objected. Breite said Friday he is working to schedule another hearing to try to get Fairlamb released as he awaits a potential trial in Washington.
An affidavit filed in the case last month showed a photo of someone authorities identified as Fairlamb allegedly punching a police officer in the head. A different photo allegedly showed Fairlamb picking up a collapsible baton that had fallen on the ground and putting it under his arm.

A Missouri congresswoman says her life was threatened in June by an alleged U.S. Capitol rioter from Sussex County, whose U.S. Secret Service brother reportedly led a security detail for former first lady Michelle Obama.
"This is Scott Fairlamb. In June, he threatened my life on social media," Rep. Cori Bush, who represents Missouri's 1st Congressional District, said Sunday in a tweet.
The tweet included a screen capture allegedly from a recently deleted social media account "@fairlambfit," telling her, "You're full of (expletive). Shoulda lit your (expletive) up."

In her post, Bush said, "Thank goodness no one was hurt by their gross behavior."

The brother of an alleged US Capitol rioter is a US Secret Service agent who once led former first lady Michelle Obama's detail, CNN has learned.
Preston Fairlamb III, the brother of Scott Fairlamb -- a man who faces five charges connected to his alleged role in the Capitol insurrection -- is a member of the Secret Service and, according to Obama's 2018 memoir, had "led my detail" at one point.

Scott Fairlamb's attorney, Harley Breite, told CNN that Preston Fairlamb III was unaware of his brother's alleged actions during the attack on the Capitol. "He was not privy to anything that my client is alleged to have done that day," he said.
