Our Country is at a crossroads in history. With Covid, a racial divide and unrest, and a disturbing amount of mass shootings, we are at a breaking point. What our Government needs right now less Politicians and more Leaders. Our Elected Officials are too involved in their own agendas and special interests. Too many of them are just looking for fame and status. A lot of them make cliché promises to get elected that they brake the moment they are sworn in. So, where are all our Leaders?
Unfortunately , in today’s politics we have far too many Public Officials who have no idea what it means to be a leader. They have no idea what it takes to be a leader. The problem is that a good majority of these elected Officials are just looking out for themselves and those who “buy” into their cause. For example, many of these politicians have taken donations from the NRA. Florida Senator Marco Rubio has taken over $3 million in donations from the NRA. In 2018, Parkland, Florida was the site of one of the worst school shooting in history but despite that Senator Rubio refuses to denounce or stop taking donations from the NRA. This is not a leader. This is a politician. President Trump had many opportunities during last year to in office to encourage peace during the racial unrest after the murder of George Floyd. He had a moment to make a difference but instead he stoked the flames, instigated those standing up for what is right, and he made daily Tweets counterproductive to peace. He did this all as to not alienate his base followers. This is no leader. This is a Politician.
So what is a leader? Where are today’s leaders?
A leader first and foremost cares more about the well being of others over themselves. A leader does not do thing for the admiration of others, for the fame, or to obtain status. A leader gives and gives and then they give some more. A leader brings people together. A leader inspires. A leader knows when to speak and knows when to listen. A leader is a man or woman of great moral character. And lastly, a leader cares.
So, where will our future leaders come from?
Well, one place is the great State of Florida, where Allen Ellison is running for U.S. Senate against Marco Rubio. Allen is often heard telling people, “I don’t want to be a POLITICIAN. I want to be a LEADER.” Allen is a community leader, a small business owner, and a family man.
“I have learned how to listen to people, how to connect, be open-minded, be resourceful, and solve problems.”states Ellison.
He believes Americans deserve better, “Every family deserves to be safe & secure in their homes with access to healthcare and good paying jobs to have the best quality of life.” We need leadership like Allen’s on the Senate floor and in our Government. Allen is a man of the people because he comes from the people. He is a hardworking businessman who knows the struggles we all face day to day. This a man who you can count to not beholden to special interests or big time benefactors. He is ready to do what is right for the people of Florida and the United States. This man is a LEADER!
“I have been working hard my whole life and I don’t plan to stop any time soon.”
