Just Sayin’ is a series of very brief thoughts from Hal Brown
If a former national leader fell out of power in some countries he might not have the rule of law to protect him.
He might not be able to rest easy in his gilded cage of a mansion.
In those countries the tanks might be rumbling down the streets as soon as the new regime took over. If the president he called his pal decided to have him tried for some trumped up charge (no pun intended) he’d be likely to suffer the fate of Alexei Navalny. Hell, he’d be lucky to get only 2 ½ years in prison.
Here this lawless ex-president will get fair trials. Imagine that...
Despite attempts to bend the law to The Former’s nefarious purposes, William Barr I am referring to you, and trying to overturn an election, the rule of law prevailed.
To say that Trump is in serious legal jeopardy is an understatement. Just do a web search (here). The lawyers going after him aren’t exactly Lionel Hutzes.
While The Former faces both civil consequences that could break his piggy bank, there are criminal cases which, if he’s found guilty, could result in prison sentences or home confinement.
Who knows, eventually the U.S. Coast Guard may have the mission of keeping someone from getting out rather than getting into Mar a Lago…
… one can only hope...
The poll should read “How likely do you think it is that Trump will lose a civil case or be found guilty of a crime?”
