It’s Thursday, but this is a pretty good rant. ;)
Video page notes by Keith:
To go to the hockey game in progress right now at Madison Square Garden in New York, you must do one of three things: get a $119 saliva test to prove you don't have Covid-19, a $30 Q-tip on the end of a javelin going up your nose to prove you don't have Covid-19, or free confirmation that you got the free Covid Vaccine two weeks ago or more.
Which will most people choose?
The market has already decided on this one. And as we approach, then pass, half the country being fully vaccinated and raring to go, businesses from hockey teams to airlines will cease to be legally comfortable admitting customers who can't or won't prove they've been vaccinated. The legal liability is up for dispute, and no business likes that.
So instead of worrying about an erosion of your privacy (the 70000th of the last 20 years) that mirrors exactly the erosion of privacy that the mandatory Smallpox and Polio vaccination laws enacted on your grandparents and great-grandparents, focus on fighting misuse by government or business.
Because the Passports are already here and already a damn sight better than the Javelin With The Q-Tip!
