This image was used in a 2015 article in the UK tabloid The Mirror with the title: Donald Trump seems to live up to his name as he gurns his way through campaign rally- The billionaire real estate mogul looked as if he was suffering from a bad case of wind as he addressed 15,000 people in Dallas
Point of personal pride: I was looking for a graphic for just the word narcissism to illustrate this diary which was on Getty Images so I just looked up the word “narcissism” on Google Images. I changed my mind and found the photo above, but I my search for the word alone I found links to two of my Daily Kos Diaries (see screen image search grab):
‘If He’s Not in a Fight, He Looks for One.’ Trump’s Ukraine scandal reflects his lifelong craving for a fresh enemy.
Murdoch's Australian papers publish "‘Malignant narcissist’: Why Donald Trump will never change"
These diaries essentially explain why I think Trump truly believes he is going to be elected president again. I don’t think you need to look at these because the titles say it all. I am tired of writing in depth about Trump’s personality so this will be short.
Like Robert Harrington in PalmerReport in an article published yesterday we look for reasons Trump will be get his comeuppance.
I guarantee you that Trump doesn’t read Palmer Report, but he has to be aware of the news about the Grand Jury being seated in New York.
We want to believe reports like this which came out before he lost the election:
In fact the New York Times story on which this video is based says the following (click to enlarge):
Note the word above is “concerned” and not “fear.” The report is also anecdotal. It probably comes from people who think that if they hear Trump talk about something happening he really is experiencing fear like most people would.
Much has been written about him being incapable of empathy or love. I don’t recall reading about him being incapable of fear. This is a basic emotion almost everybody experiences. The key word is “almost.”
I think Trump would have an autonomic visceral reaction of fear to an imminent possibly deadly physical threat like the symptoms of a heart attack. He may have experienced fear when he came down with Covid. But here I am referring to an abstract danger.
I wouldn't bet on Trump actually being fearful of losing the power he now has let alone actually going to prison or at the least being exiled to living in Florida as long as the state has a governor who will prevent his extradition.
Not only do I have doubts that he is afraid of prison, I also think there’s a good chance he really thinks he will be president again.
I also believe he knows he lost the election but promotes the “big lie” because he sees this as a political ploy to assure that he is elected again.
Addendum:
There’s no shortage of images of Trump in prison. Here’s a search.
