Enjoy these tunes by Tennessee bluesman, Columbus “Lum” Guffin (b.1902, d.1993).
Lum the Walking Victrola, the Musical Historian, learning songs from his own region and picking up the popular blues and songs of the day. He performed as [a] street musician in the depression around the Binghampton area of Memphis, with his sometime partner mandolin player 'Chunk' McCullough, or at home for various social gatherings, picnics, dances etc.
Since learning to play in the early 20's, he has learned from the tradition as it existed then, and changed as the times did, finally learning to play electric guitar single-note style, with a flatpick. — Walking Victrola liner notes
