Violated, demeaned, diminished, sapped

Mankind's cash-cow nearing exhaustion, skirting ruination

Yet, not done chiding, clamouring, protesting, messaging

Heatwaves, droughts, wildfires

Melting glaciers, warming oceans, flooding

Famine, societal upheaval, pandemics, wars

Stockpiled nuclear arsenals, readied, set to go

Greenlighted mutually assured destruction, nanoseconds away

Humanity joins Mother Earth to lament and weep

Together, wail and sob, cry out from the deep

Reverse our course, lest life, in all forms

Be damned, to eternal, lifeless, sleep.
