On May 28th at 3:30 a.m. I woke up needing to use the bathroom. As I stood up all of a sudden I heard an audible click. Suddenly I had trouble walking. By the next morning I not only had more trouble walking I also had trouble speaking. I knew what words I wanted to say but it was a major struggle to get the words out.
My brother called 911. One of the ambulance people picked me up and put me on the gurney, loaded me into the ambulance, and with sirens going rushed me to the hospital. The attendants at the hospital immediately got me onto one of their beds and rushed me into a CAT Scan and a MRI.
Fortunately the results came back as no sign of a stroke in the CAT Scan and the MRI. They immediately decided it was just stress related. They didn’t do any more tests such as checking the ears for problems that would have effected my balance. They sent this rude person into my room who was telling me I needed a psychiatrist. She ignored me when I told her I didn’t need her services that I had a therapist that I have seen for several years now.
At this time I am having to use my cane all the time. I get these dizzy spells like the room is spinning and the cane has prevented me from falling several time. I am still having problems speaking although it is getting better. About 60% of the time I am alright in speaking.
So that is how things stand now and why I haven’t been around as much. The medical people just copped an easy answer of stress and anxiety and didn’t bother to check the ears for the vertigo and why my speech was so difficult for me.
I definitely need prayers, good wishes, healing energy, and anything else you want to come my way.
