Apologies to True Blue Majority, who offered to write this diary when I had the idea but little time. It seems that time must be made for a request that the democrats commit in writing to a fealty to their constituents.
If we improve the democratic majority in 2022, we will honor and defend the power of the people to represent themselves in the democracy that so many have fought and died for.
As Democratic members of the Congress of the United States of America, we commit to ALL the people that we will honor and defend their right to a government of, for, and by the people, as our Founders intended.
In our promise to serve the public good, we propose not just to obey the Constitution, but to maintain law and order by recommitting to the fact that NOBODY IS ABOVE THE LAW. Our hope is that following the rules will restore the bonds of trust that have been lost between the people and their elected representatives.
In this era of Sedition, we offer a policy agenda for a renewal of our republic, a stated commitment to you, the voters. The 2022 election offers us the chance to assure each and EVERY person the vote, without interference! We will fight the Climate Crisis by building a green, sustainable infrastructure that offers good paying union jobs, stop the violence in our streets while allowing for peaceful protest, demand that the wealthy pay their fair share, and forever hold the truth in our hearts and minds that we are ONE PEOPLE.
These necessary policies will be the bane of ‘The Party of No’, today’s republican party, which sees it’s role as winning a game, rather than paying attention to those they serve and being competent at governance!
Each and every person in our country can be assured that they will be respected by their democratic representatives in Congress. We will promote equity, equality, and fairness at every turn.
The values that we share can be the beginning of a Congress that’s no longer seen as putting themselves before the people they serve and no longer collects huge payoffs from donors who want special service. We will stop accepting legislation written by lobbyists through their White Papers. We are legislators and we will legislate!
We will protect the inalienable human rights of all of our people, but will restore accountability in government.
