I sometimes don’t know what to say. It feels like we’re stuck in a permanent loop. We have the White House, the House and the Senate and yet we're still at the mercy of Republican whims. We have a very thin window where we might be able to implement anything like a slightly progressive agenda, where we might restore the voting rights act, we might be able to do something about social justice and climate change. Maybe. Then we can largely expect to lose the House in 2022 and then starts the endless Impeachments and even more obstruction.
Meanwhile, the former figurehead of the other party is running around claiming that he’s going to be "reinstated” into office in August. Based on nothing rational. Based on nothing reasonable. Based on nothing that’s even possible. And yet, his delusion persists.
The problem of course is that he’s not the only delusional one.
Here Jim Acosta makes his case that Trump is simply “not well.”
Because, of course, he isn't.
Talking to I'm like his a kindly dotard is not going to help. He’s too far gone. He’s always been gone. He was completely delusional when he rode down the escalator and declared that “Mexicans are Rapists.” That’s just plain nuts.
He’s a projector and a grifter. He projects evil intention and action onto all of his adversaries — “Hillary shouldn’t have been allowed to run”, “China is eating our lunch”, “Muslims should be banned”, “Antifa are terrorists", "the virus is just going to magically go away”, “maybe we could use bleach or ultraviolet light under the skin” and so on and so forth. From day one, during the Inauguration he was pricing gouging with his own DC Hotel, shoveling dollars into his own pockets. He priced gouged at Mar-A-Lago charging the Secret Serving ridiculous fees for golf cart and room rental.
He was a scumbag.
And now he’s totally completely obsessed with the idea that he didn’t lose in 2020, and that the Arizona “#Fraudit” will prove it.
Basically based on the rantings of Mike “My Useless Pillow Guy” Lindell Drumfph now believes that the Arizona Audit is going to prove something or the other which will make it somehow look like many ballots from Pheonix are somehow not legitimate — which means ballots from Detroit, Philadelphia and Atlanta were not legitimate — and somehow the Supreme Court will get involved and presto chango — he's in the White House again.
That will be some great magic trick.
I don't think it's going to fool Penn and Teller though.
Then you have his flock, who have adopted positions even more deeply delusional than his own.
20% of America — 20% — really, truly believe this bullshit is real.
20% of us have been taken over body and soul by a bad internet meme. From 4Chan!
It's ludicrous. It's ridiculous. Jewish Space Lasers and Pedophile Cannibals. A massive multinational cabal controlled by Hollywood and Liberals, all of whom will be carted off the prison any. second. now. right after the U.S. Military rises up, storms the White House and carts old Joe Biden off in a patty wagon.
Then Drumfph comes strolling back in, and all will again be right with the world.
We won't have democracy. We won't have law. We won't have justice.
We’ll have mob rule. We'll have The Storm. We’ll have the velvet self-righteous fist of white grievance.
There is no reasoning with this mob. There is no “bi-partisanship" with the delusional. There are no deals to be made. We have to defeat this, we have to defeat them. We have to fight through the gerrymandering, fight through the voter suppression, fight through all of their bullshit and WIN!
Even Ken Paxton admits that Dems would have won Texas if they'd counted all the mail-in ballots.
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, a Republican, said former President Donald Trump would have lost in Texas in the 2020 election if his office had not successfully blocked counties from mailing out applications for mail-in ballots to all registered voters.
Harris County, home to the city of Houston, wanted to mail out applications for mail-in ballots to its approximately 2.4 million registered voters due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the conservative Texas Supreme Court blocked the county from doing so after it faced litigation from Paxton's office.
"If we'd lost Harris County—Trump won by 620,000 votes in Texas. Harris County mail-in ballots that they wanted to send out were 2.5 million, those were all illegal and we were able to stop every one of them," Paxton told former Trump adviser Steve Bannon during the latter's War Room podcast on Friday.
We have to win in 2022 and in 2024.
We have to use their delusions against them.
They don't trust the electoral system? Good. Let's let them doubt the validity of the vote. Let them think it's hopeless, let them think it's pointless. Let them stay the fuck home on election day.
Trump isn't coming back to Office in August.
Let them stew in that disappointment. He's not gonna run for the House and try and become Speaker in 2022 so that he can implement a double-Impeachment and get back to the White House in 2023 either.
Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger are cute - but they are no longer the GOP. The GOP has gone nuts. The GOP has gone Trump.
But his political career is over. He’ll be lucky if he doesn't end up in Rikers, with the tax and loan fraud cases against him in New York and the Election Tampering case in Georgia, not to mention that he is still “Individual #1” in the Michael Cohen case.
He's going to rant, he’s going to rave, his blog died after 29 days. His rally in North Carolina was a pathetic bust. He's losing his mojo.
Let him.
Let them all just wither and collapse on the vine. I don’t particularly care we have “two vibrant political parties" in order to work out of differences. We don't need two parties - we still have Joe Manchin. Just negotiating with him is bad enough.
Forget the rest of them. They're long gone.
