Nadarius Clark defeats incumbent Steve Heretick in 79th House District Democratic primary
First-time candidate Nadarius Clark — with heavy financial backing from Dominion Energy critics — defeated three-term Del. Steve Heretick in the race for the Democratic nomination in the 79th House of Delegates District.
With all 19 precincts reporting, unofficial election results show Clark receiving 47% of votes, Heretick 41% and Dante’ Walston 12%. Clark won the election by 234 votes.
The 79th District includes portions of Portsmouth, Norfolk and Chesapeake.
Nadarius is 26 years old. The video said he knock on 20,000 doors. Nadarius raised $538,353 dollars to Steve’s $463,981. Nadarius has a radio show, He backed things like $15. dollar minimum wage, giving employee unions more power and discussing reparations to the descendants of slaves. He said one of his top priorities is to provide more money for schools with a focus on establishing and supporting vocational training.
Heretick was backed by & supported Dominion Power, Nadarius was backed by people & Pac’s who were critics of Dominion.
The 79th is a very Blue district, the Republican, Lawrence Mason, the first Republican to run for the seat since 2001.
