As noted in other Diaries that I have hosted, there are loads of songs about places.
There have been songs about regions, countries, planets, cities, states, etc.
But there can only be one that you think is best. For me it was an obvious choice.
I grew up on Mel Brooks from the age of 0 basically. I share the sense of humor that my father had, people always mention to me now how much I look, and have a sense of humor like him, which I take as a compliment.
Because of Mel Brook’s Jewish/Yiddish elements in his schticks from almost his start there was never a Brooks movie we missed. The one I saw the most, and it is a very, very, very close call, is The Producers. Not the bad “new” (Hey I am a luddite, get off my lawn!) one made with Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick, I am talking about the True one, with Gene Wilder and the great Zero Mostel. (Who if you ever wish to learn about this great liberal and master of many forms of entertainment go read a diary I wrote on him moons ago)
Anyway enough about my past. My favorite line that offers the name of a place occurs in the song “Springtime for Hitler” aka “Springtime for you know who”
i was born in Dusseldorf and that is why they call me Rolf
Your song?
