In the attached letter to Pope Francis, the request for the Papal Bull to be rescinded was now added to a list of requests from the first Contact Tribes/Nations attending The World Indigenous Leaders Conference, 1st Truth Commission on Decolonization and Reconciliation of the International Council of First Nations on May 8-9, 2021.
Amongst those in attendance was Principal Chief Dr. Ronald Yonaguska Holloway of the SandHill Band of Lenape and Cherokee Indians and the International Ambassador for the Federation of Indigenous Nations of the Americas.
It was decided that a second letter to the Pope needed to be written as a follow up to the July 25, 2019 Letter to the Pope.
The second letter calls the Pope to the task at hand and requests the end of the Papal Bull, as well as the return of the Codex Borgia that is in the Vatican’s possession.
The Codex Borgia is a book that consists of hand painted manuscripts which depicts through drawings and symbols the Gods, the religion, and calendar of the Indigenous Peoples inhabiting South America through what is now known as Mexico. It was created before the Spaniards arrived in to the Americas.
During the Spanish invasion of South America through Mexico, many of the ancient records and other Codexis of the Indigenous Tribes/Nations, were destroyed as they were considered pagan.
The Codex Borgia is one of a few remaining ancient records that escaped being burned by the invading Spaniards.
The attendees listed their requests for changes within the attached letter. I am including the list of requests in this article. The attached letter goes into a much deeper explanation of the history behind the requests.
I am listing the requests as it is written in the letter.
- That the Pope issue a new edict that ends the war on all non-Christians worldwide
- Return the Codex Bo9rgia to Mexico This YEAR 2021.
- Join with the Indigenous Peoples of all First Nations around the world, to make 2021 the Return of the Sacred, as Cultural Inheritance is a human right.
- Recognize the 12th of March as the new year on the Aztek Calendar.
- Take notice that the Holy See is presently in violation of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous peoples of 2007, (according to Article 43) to enshrine the rights that ‘constitute the minimal standards for the survival, dignity and well being of the indigenous peoples of the worlds.
- Be advised Art.11.2 prays that States shall provide a repair…Which may include restitution, with respect to cultural, intellectual, religious, and spiritual property taken without their free, prior, and informed consent.
- Begin the communication between the Vatican Apostolic Library and the National Museum of Anthropology and History in Mexico City, to advance the process of the repatriation of the Codex Borgia.
