I think we all know this. Virginia candidate, Katie Sponsler, is catching some flak for saying it out loud though. Katie Sponsler, who is an Air Force veteran and former National Park Service ranger, trained in law enforcement.
What she said out loud was that she has many friends who are good cops and that there are "definitely some who are murderers" and that she would "call them out in a minute”.
The Republicans have latched onto this like they do with most rumours, half truths, and conspiracy theories. They sent someone to ask her why she felt “police are murderers”. Sponsler answered that some officers "have been prosecuted, tried and convicted of murder, and we have to acknowledge that, because ignoring a problem doesn't make it go away."
Good answer! The Republican response was pretty funny; they labeled a recitation of, you know, those pesky facts, as a “meltdown”.
Meltdown? I don’t think so. This is a meltdown:
In the Air Force, stationed in Germany, it was 52 men and Katie Sponsler.
Sponsler recalls, “I was the first woman they’d ever had there. And on my first day, the chief called me into his office and told me explicitly that he didn’t want me there, that he’d done everything in his power to avoid having a female in his shop.” Sponsler wasn’t scared, but she didn’t exactly feel invulnerable. “Three weeks in, I’m handed this mechanism called a recoil adapter,” Sponsler remembers. “I would describe it as a big, pretty phallic structure, and for it to work, it has to have lubrication worked into its grooves. I learned how to do that with over 50 men crowding around me, giving me tips. It took about 45 minutes. And that was really my introduction to my coworkers — a lesson in how to give a hand job.”

I’m betting it takes a lot for Sponsler to melt down. Katie is running in Virginia’s HD 66 against a Republican who heads up a school that teaches:
- Satan created psychology
- Most slave owners were nice
- The KKK was a nice group of white people who only wanted to help
- Environmentalists hate people
and the ultimate truism:
- God wants only modest women
OMG!
Virginia’s HD 66 is rated likely to flip blue and Katie Sponsler is the person to flip it. Or, voters could go with this:
Nah, let’s stick with reality and go with Katie.
