The first results are in, in the open seat Seattle mayoral race; it’s a nonpartisan race, where the top 2 candidates advance to November. And while there had been some initial thought that this could be a free-for-all for the second-place spot, it’s quite clear which two candidates are advancing to the next round. Former city council president Bruce Harrell leads current city council president Lorena Gonzalez, 38-29. They’re trailed by nonprofit director Colleen Echohawk at 8, former state Rep. Jessyn Farrell at 7, businessman Art Langlie at 6, former deputy mayor Casey Sixkiller at 4, and architect Andrew Grant Houston at 3. (It’s unlikely there will be further vote drops tonight; more will come over the next few days, since Washington counts vote-by-mail ballots postmarked on Election Day, but it’s hard to see the result changing with this margin.)
