Yes, accountability matters. No one is above the law. There must be equal justice for all.
And above all, the erosion of democracy and the “let it slide” precedents of the past must be halted. The rich, the ‘elite’ — whether those who formerly held power or currently wield it — are, in no way, exempt from being held accountable for their crimes.
Yes, you can — and should — indict a sitting President when he or she breaks the law.
And you should punish through censure, ejection, and charges for abuse & misuse of power those who spuriously & openly flaunt the levers of power in order to impede the workings of government simply because they know they won’t be held accountable.
This isn’t rocket science. This isn’t debatable. It’s democracy. It’s justice. It’s the law.
Where are, at the very least, the censures for Ted Cruz, Josh Hawley, Lauren Boebert, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Madison Cawthorn, Devin Nunes, Marco Rubio, Lindsey Graham, and Rand Paul? And others…?
And when will we see the subpoenas for them, as well as for Ivanka, Jared, Don Jr., and Donald himself?
What about Eastman, the memo guy?
When they all ignore the subpoenas, will we see them methodically arrested & brought in? We’d better.
This shit has to be brought to a screeching, flaming halt.
There’s too much at stake. Too many lives have been lost, too many lives forever damaged, and too little time left to get a functioning government on point for the other critical ongoing crises that the @GOP stoked, exacerbated, and intentionally failed to act to protect our nation, our people, and our planet from.
There is no excuse for leniency here. No exemptions. Any deals made cannot be made for complete freedom from accountability — that cannot be permitted, because it protects and preserves the ability of evil to return far too easily.
No more bullshit. Re-enact a Fairness Doctrine. Revisit & amend the Telecommunications Act.
Fully expose the extent of the crimes & conspiracies that got us here.
Revisit history: remind people of Smedley Butler, the Business Plot, and review “War is a Racket.”
Hold people accountable for their crimes in spite of — and specifically because of — the power they held (or hold) and the wealth they control.
No pardons.
We don’t have the luxury of ignoring the growing rot & spreading corruption in our body politic any longer.
