How many ways can the GOP break the Law, before something is done about it?
Well according to this article: Several ways, are not too many for the GOP — AND a legal investigation is underway:

Sixteen Republicans, including the current co-chair of the Michigan Republican Party, signed certificates asserting they were Michigan’s presidential electors and sent the illegitimate documents to the National Archive. The unofficial documents were part of a failed Republican strategy to overturn President Joe Biden’s victory in battleground states, which is under new scrutiny from a U.S. House panel and the Michigan Attorney General’s office.
[...]
On the same day, Republican nominees gathered at the Michigan Republican Party headquarters in Lansing to sign the unofficial documents. The documents also falsely claimed Republican nominees signed the certificates in the Michigan Capitol.

Three days earlier, the U.S. Supreme Court dismissed a lawsuit backed by 15 state lawmakers and 4 members of Congress seeking to invalidate Michigan’s election results.
A dozen Republicans also signed a separate legal brief arguing Michigan’s electoral votes should not be counted until the state Legislature certifies the results. Michigan’s Board of State Canvassers had already certified the election results as required by the state Constitution.
[...]
A spokesperson for the Michigan Attorney General’s Office said the documents are part of an ongoing investigation into “election-related matters.” No other details on the timing or scope of the investigation were provided to MLive.

The case was referred to the U.S. AG in Michigan, by Michigan Attorney General.
More about that here. Oh yeah, looks like New Mexico Attorney General is doing the same.

LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Michigan’s attorney general is asking federal prosecutors to open a criminal investigation into 16 Republicans who submitted false certificates stating they were the state’s presidential electors despite Joe Biden’s 154,000-vote victory in 2020.

“Under state law, I think clearly you have forgery of a public record, which is a 14-year offense, and election law forgery, which is a five-year offense,” [Dana Nessel, Michigan Attorney General] told MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow. But the Justice Department, she said, is best suited to probe and potentially prosecute.

New Mexico Attorney General Hector Balderas, a Democrat, announced he was referring his state’s case to federal authorities as well even as “review under state law is ongoing.”
“Election laws are the foundation of our democracy and must be respected,” he said.

They have a serious point. If Election Laws can be treated like a game, disrespected and spoofed for the hell of it — how long will it be before the Election Results themselves, become the fodder of the same “gangster gamesmanship” ... “what-ever-it-takes” tactics?

"So we have to be a lot sharper next time when it comes to counting the vote. There's a famous statement. Sometimes the vote counter is more important than the candidate. And we can't let that ever, ever happen again. We have to get tougher and smarter."

A contest without rules, is not really a contest at all — it’s two steps away from all-out mob-rule.
A legal system without consequences, is a deterrent — for next to no one, except for perhaps those being exploited.

"The Justice Department remains committed to holding all January 6th perpetrators, at any level, accountable under law, whether they were present that day or were otherwise criminally responsible for the assault on our democracy," Attorney General Merrick Garland said Wednesday in remarks thanking department officials for their work on the riot cases. "We will follow the facts wherever they lead."

PS. They’re still planning their next illegal caper (as The Boss just told his crew a few days ago) — come hell or high-water: “We have to get tougher and smarter."
What’s to stop them?
…
Seditious conspiracy really needs to hone in on those who routed those Fraudulent Documents — not just the fools who were just ‘following their orders’.
