Republicans in New Hampshire are running radio commercials in which they promise to “bring New Hampshire values to Washington” and “change the direction” of Washington politics. It’s more or less the same message they always offer when there is Democrat in the White House.
However, we all know that if Republicans win a majority in either House of Congress, the result won’t be any change of values or direction; it will be gridlock: government shutdowns, debt ceiling crises, endless investigations of the Biden administration, and, very likely, at least one impeachment vote.
So, why aren’t Democrats making gridlock a campaign issue? Surely there are enough old stories from the Trump and Obama eras to make the point.
