“Tis the times' plague, when madmen lead the blind.” — King Lear
It is the middle of the night. No one will take your calls. The GOP establishment is turning against you. Ruppert Murdoch has kicked you in the balls. The election news is getting worse. Love is in the air because your daughter Tiffany is getting married in the morrow. But you are full of hate. Luckily, you own a social media platform. So there are MAGAs you can rage at.
Trump took to Truth Social, as his political relevance slips away, and raged against the elements and the unfairness of it all. It was Maricopa County, Arizona that first drew his ire after Mark Kelly was confirmed the victor over MAGA acolyte, Blake Masters.
Maricopa County elections are run by a Republican Election Commission. They must also be in on the conspiracy. Bastards.
As the clock ticked towards midnight, the unmoored madman then targeted Clark County, Nevada for his spit-flecked rage. And Mitch McConnell was in his sights for buggering up — in Trump’s estimation — the election in Alaska.
Once again the unnamed but perfidious “they” — the ninja deep staters — are stealing an election while leaving no trace of their iniquity. Or perhaps it is a chocolate cake-induced fever dream. Who can tell?
McConnell may be “Broken Down”, but he will be going to work next week as Senate Republican Leader while 2020/2022’s biggest loser, and superannuated golf bum, channels his inner King Lear. Trump was determined to get his money’s worth as he threw election denial, dollars to Democrats, and the debt ceiling into the mix.
Note: Alaska's two Republicans have challenging names to spell. And Trump has no interest in looking them up. So he reduced Lisa Murkowski to Lisa M and his pick, Kelly Tshibaka, to Kelly S. I guess the “T” was lost in translation.
After he managed two complete paragraphs — unusually close to grammatical accuracy, although promiscuous in capitalization — his stamina started to fail. And the posts got shorter while his scope got wider.
It is self-explanatory, if rather general.
Then he stuck the landing by revisiting those mental defectives (possibly depraved) who had done him wrong in the desert.
Dear God, I hope he goes to Georgia and tells the Peach State independents his feelings about the midterms. They will stay home, or maybe even leave the state, to get away from the lunacy.
I am guessing that Trump’s entire family is by his side as Tiffany is walking the aisle today to sanctify her matrimonial union with Michael Boulous, a scion to a wealthy family that made its money in Nigeria. Last July, People magazine reported that "They both want to marry in a big ceremony, your basic international spectacle. Tiffany likes the idea of a glamorous and glitzy affair and, surprisingly, so does Michael."
It was a reasonable expectation. Her father is an ex-President of the United States, who owns an ornate and historic estate. And normally there would be the cream of America’s social crop, minor European royals, and the financial elite in attendance. But I suspect the soon-to-be blushing bride received more than the expected number of “Love to, but prior engagement” regrets. And her wedding will become just one more thing Trump has fucked up.
