It is a great day whenever an American political prisoner is released. It is sad that Paul Whelan what not part of the deal. President Biden will be speaking on this shortly.

Recently, Russia passed new expanded anti-LGBTQ laws, which could have placed Griner, an African American gay woman’s life at risk.

Brittney Griner was convicted in Russia for a small quantity of prescribed cannabis oil that she said she was unaware was illegal in Russia. It is clear her arrest and long sentence made her a political prisoner.

On the local political front, get ready for Fox News to start with negative identity politics. They will use Brittney being gay and African American and Paul Whelan being a white man to create friction. The progressive base must be ready to counteract to prevent the cauterization of false messaging.
