Kyrsten Sinema is a curse upon all of us, not just on our spellchecking software. She votes against her party — not when the party supports fringe issues — but on wildly popular issues.
Here’s a rundown of everything that is wildly popular with the majority of the Americans that Kyrsten Sinema, and the unpopular things she’s supported. I don’t write this to destroy Senator Sinema, but to destroy her “centrist” façade. If we have a chance to elect a real Democrat(moderate or otherwise) from Arizona, we need to destroy the myth of Sinema.

Effectively Killed Build Back Better
Kyrsten Sinema threatened to destroy the ill-fated Build-Back-Better bill in order to promote her “infrastructure Bill”. Here’s what was in the Build Back Better Bill at the time:
- Hearing Aids for the Elderly (Medicare expansion)
- 4 weeks of paid medical family leave
- Allow the Government to Negotiate Prescription Drug Prices
- And continue the monthly child-tax credit payments
Those are wildly popular things across the electorate, and yet she killed it.
Minimum Wage
Nearly 2/3rds of Americans support raising the minimum wage. Despite that, Corporatist Sinema voted against raising the minimum wage to $15 in the most obnoxious way possible.
Tax Loop Holes
There is a major tax loophole that big Wallstreet firms take advantage of to avoid billions of dollars in taxes. Its called the Carried-Interest tax loophole. Democrats were going to close that loophole for people making over half a million a year. The Wallstreet friendly Senator Sinema killed it while raking in millions in wall street money? Again, this is in spite of how wildly popular it is to raise taxes on these wealthy parasites.
Drug Price Negotiation
It is absurd that the U.S. government cannot negotiate with pharmaceutical companies to lower costs of prescription drugs. Giving the government the right to negotiate is wildly popular amongst Americans. Somewhere between 56 and 83 percent support. And yet, while corporatist Sinema was slowly killing the Build Back Better act, one of her primary targets was making sure it stays in place.
War Refugees
She voted against letting Iraq and Syrian refugees during the height of the ISIS crises. This is despite that, even at the height of the crises, Americans(God bless us) supported allowing refugees from those areas coming here.
Voting Rights
Of course, Sinema didn’t support reforming the filibuster at all. But let’s remember that it was in order to support the pro democracy bill. 7 in 10 Americans supported the John Lewis voting rights act. Sinema refused to make that happen.
