House Speaker Nancy Pelosi led a Congressional delegation to Kyiv yesterday, where the team met with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. This was a show of solidarity for Ukraine, its leadership and its people and a push to generate worldwide support for Ukraine including funds and arms to fight Russia, which is perpetrating a genocidal war against Ukraine.
Pelosi was accompanied by Adam Schiff, chair of House intelligence, and Gregory Meeks, chair of House foreign affairs, Chairman Jim McGovern, Congresswoman Barbara Lee (D-CA), Congressman Bill Keating (D-MA) and Congressman Jason Crow (D-CO).
A week ago, State Secretary Antony Blinken and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin had visited Kyiv.

Our Congressional Delegation traveled to Kyiv and met with @ZelenskyyUa to send an unmistakable and resounding message to the entire world: America stands firmly with Ukraine.
President Zelenskyy conveyed the need for continued security, economic & humanitarian assistance from the U. S. & our delegation delivered the message that additional American support is on the way, as we work to transform @POTUS funding request into a legislative package.
Our delegation conveyed our respect and gratitude to President Zelenskyy for his leadership and our admiration of the Ukrainian people for their courage in the fight against Russia’s oppression.
Our delegation will now continue our travels in Poland, where we will meet with President @AndrzejDuda and senior officials. We look forward to thanking our Polish allies for their dedication and humanitarian efforts.
When we return to the United States, we will do so further informed, deeply inspired and ready to do what is needed to help the Ukrainian people as they defend democracy for their nation and for the world.

That’s mind-boggling from this 82-year old bundle of energy and one of the smartest people on this planet. This not something you will find among the cowards and grifters that infest the republican party.
Sometimes we feel that the Democratic party is not moving fast enough but there are plenty of initiatives in domestic and foreign policy that we don’t get to hear in the regular news cycle. Let’s lend our energy and constructive ideas to the Democratic party, our President and our Speaker, so that we can retain the House and Senate this November. Let’s showcase what Democrats do — for the economy, for healthcare, for education, for the environment, for fair taxes and for Democracy around the world. And contrast it with republicans who stand against everything decent Americans stand for.
