You probably haven’t even heard of Kandiss Taylor, one of the several Republican gubernatorial candidates in Georgia. Well, have I got a story for you. Taylor is a rabid pro-lifer who doesn’t believe in the right to abortion. She also apparently doesn’t understand the entire First Amendment of the American Constitution—you know, the part about the separation of church and state—and she has no issue threatening law enforcement.
In an interview this March with WRDW-12 in Augusta, Georgia, Taylor said her focus for the state is “to protect the Constitution.” But fast-forward to a rally Sunday in Forsyth, Georgia, where Taylor said, "The church runs the state of Georgia,” according to Business Insider.

What Taylor doesn’t get is that although the First Amendment protects the freedom of religion, it also has two parts, known as the establishment clause and the free exercise clause, which form the basis for the separation of church and state doctrine. This part: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof,” written by Thomas Jefferson in order to build a “wall of separation of church and state.”
“This state is sovereign. This is our state. We decide what happens. We decide if we kill babies,” Taylor proclaimed, standing in front of her bus with her campaign slogan “Jesus, Guns, Babies” emblazoned on the side. “That's our choice. I pray Roe v. Wade gets overturned, it should be. But let's get one thing straight: The States didn't give them the right to have Roe v. Wade to begin with!"
Taylor is running third behind David Perdue and the incumbent, Gov. Brian Kemp. Taylor took an odd swipe at Kemp Sunday, accusing him of selling Georgia out to the Chinese Communist Party, but declined to mention how Kemp is doing that, Business Insider reports.

In another speech she gave recently, Taylor described the First Amendment as “the right to worship Jesus freely.” She went on to tell the quaint story about how the “founding fathers” made a “huge sacrifice” when they brought genocide on Native Americans and stole their land.
"The First Amendment right, which is our right to worship Jesus freely—that's why we have a country. That's why we have Georgia," she said. "That's why we had our Founding Fathers come over here and destroy American Indians' homes and their land. They took it. Look at what they went through, the Native Americans, for sacrifice for us to have the freedom that we have today."
And just as Taylor shits on the Constitution, she also takes the time to use the document to her advantage when threatening Georgia sheriffs she claims are corrupt.
"I don't care, I don't mind handcuffing any single person who breaks the law and goes against our government," she said, as reported by Newsweek. "The Constitution says, when you commit treason it is death by firing squad. I didn't write it, it is in there, it is serious. When you swear to God to uphold a document that you will do the will of the people, you will honor every single thing in that Constitution and you do that."
Georgia’s mid-term primary is Tuesday. Former President Donald Trump has endorsed David Perdue and Rep. Jody Hice from Georgia’s 10th district, running to replace Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger.
