I imagine for a lot of us, we have family, friends and neighbors who are Republicans, so far at least as how they vote. Just to keep it simple. Myself, I voted for McGovern in 1972, my first ballot cast. Since then only one time has my home county voted as a majority for a Democratic candidate -- Obama 2008. Once, and only once. Illinois has a tendency to vote (early and often) for the not Republicans. Psychic vampires plague us with zombie governors -- shit happens.
Archie was a good neighbor. The last two times I was in the hospital he came around to clear the snow off the driveway, my wife always reimbursed him accordingly. It was goofy, I'd be in the hospital, winter would descend with a vengeance, and they kept me a month, twice...
For Archie, it came to a simple medical procedure, where he ought to have been sent home after a day or two, but they sent him to a nursing home where he was exposed to Covid and quarantined, diagnosed with an infection requiring a catheter, then given the exact opposite medication, and everything just got worse and never better.
Trust me, it was truly so way not good. Ultimately, he succumbed.
We all know folks, family, friends and neighbors -- Republicans.

Not gonna wonder here, if they know us.
