The Jan. 6 committee announced on Monday that it will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, June 28 at 1 PM ET. The announcement comes as the committee only last week announced that it would wrap hearings for this month and hold additional sessions throughout July.
A committee spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment to Daily Kos on Monday.
A link to the committee’s live stream will be available here at Daily Kos on Tuesday. To catch up on what the committee unpacked during its most recent hearing, check out the related link below.

NBC News reported early Monday evening that a “familiar source” described the hearing as unplanned. This person added: “You can deduce from that there will be a lot of significance to the hearing.”
Witnesses for the hearing were not announced before 4PM Monday. They have traditionally been announced well before a hearing goes live.
An advisory statement sent to reporters covering the probe was nondescript, stating only that the committee plans on presenting “recently obtained evidence and witness testimony.”
Filmmaker Alex Holder did recently turn over a trove of records to the committee. He filmed Trump, the former president’s family, and other members of the Trump administration before, during, and after the Jan. 6 attack.
The New York Times first reported that in a clip filmed by Holder, Trump’s daughter and onetime adviser offered a starkly different take about her father’s push to overturn the election than the one she gave to the Jan. 6 committee during an eight-hour recorded deposition.
Ivanka Trump told the probe she accepted former Attorney General Bill Barr’s findings about the 2020 election, namely, that there was no evidence of widespread fraud.
But nine days after Barr had announced publicly that he did not find fraud, Ivanka told Holder she understood why “a lot of Americans feel very, very disenfranchised right now, and really, question the sanctity of our elections, and that's not right, it's not acceptable."
She continued: "And he has to take on this fight. Look, you fight for what you love the most and he loves this country and he loves this country's people, and he wants to make sure that their voice is, is heard and not muted.”
Her father, she said, “will continue to fight until every legal remedy is exhausted and that’s what he should do.”
