Colorado conservatives cast their votes on Tuesday and chose to say no to Big Lie proponent and indicted elections security maven Tina Peters. The former Mesa County Clerk and Reporter had previously received 60% of the delegate votes during a Republican State Assembly meeting in April, but most actual voters decided the fact that she is facing a 10-count indictment, including seven felony charges, was reason enough to vote for someone else. Republican Pam Anderson becomes the GOP candidate who will run against the incumbent, Democratic Secretary of State Jena Griswold. I guess disgraced former General and cowardly Fifth Amendment pleader Michael Flynn’s endorsement, Peters didn’t go very far with voters.
Peters was walloped in a three-way GOP primary race, receiving only 28% of the vote, and coming in behind the second-place candidate. The good news is that many voters, including those she once oversaw in Mesa County, chose someone to run for the highest elections position in the state who hasn’t promised to throw out votes in service of a King Trump. The only sad news here is that incumbent Democratic Sec. of State Griswold, who is overseeing the investigation of a lot of frightening MAGA-inspired election-security issues, faces a tougher Republican opponent than Peters and her conspiracy-funded campaign.
In what will likely be a preview of the 2022 and 2024 elections, Peters told an audience on Tuesday night, “We didn’t lose, we just found evidence of more fraud … they’re cheating and we’ll prove it once again.” Who is “cheating?” In this case, the best guess would probably be the “deep state” and RINOs (Republicans In Name Only), and more generally people who don’t agree with or like Tina Peters. Businessman and election denialist podcaster Joe Oltmann (pictured above) was at the event, and offered up baseless evidence that Peters’ primary was rigged against her.

Peters faces charges stemming from her using her position as head of Mesa County elections to breach security in a windmill-tilling campaign against the reality that Donald Trump lost the 2020 election. Peters and her chief deputy, Belinda Knisley, have been barred from having any legal authority to oversee upcoming elections as a result. Peters is accused of bringing in an unvetted former pro surfer dude to secretly copy Dominion voting machines, as well as having that same person stand in during the trusted-build software update on the same machines. The passwords for these machines were later posted online on conspiracy websites.
Here’s an image of Peters and her supporters watching her lose the GOP primary singing the national anthem because they love playing pretend patriot.
Campaign Action
Peters says that she broke all security protocol in order to prove that the voting machines were compromised and had somehow secretly turned Joe Biden into the president over Donald Trump. She … compromised the security of the voting machines in order to prove … they had previously been compromised. Peters and Knisley, because they were totally doing legal stuff, had the security cameras shut off when they gave access to the former pro surfer dude, a guy they also gave a fake ID to in order to pretend he was a vetted IT official. Lots of laws were broken here, and most of those charges include words like fraud.
Since that time, The Daily Sentinel has estimated the costs of Tina Peters and her circus of narcissism on the Mesa County taxpayers at $1,260,515.92. This cost, of course, does not include “costs to other local agencies, such as the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office, the Grand Junction Police Department, the Colorado Secretary of State’s Office, the Colorado Attorney General’s Office, the 21st Judicial District, and the Mesa County District Attorney’s Office, which is prosecuting several criminal matters against Peters and her chief deputy, Belinda Knisley.” Peters continues to receive a $93,000 salary from Mesa County, even though she is barred from her offices and election duties.
The fact that Donald Trump has never received the popular vote in anything in the history of the world has not yet seemed to register with the Big Lie folks. Peters will now have to go back to the MyPillow circuit of Big Lie propagandists, rubbing shoulders with other criminals, pardoned-by-Trump criminals, and (hopefully) soon-to-be-indicted folks with names like Flynn, Stone, Meadows, Hannity, Trump, Trump, Trump, and Trump Jr.
