… and it’s not a good look for Daily Kos
All you have to do, for this to make sense when you see it, is to accept that this country is doomed. That there are irreconcilable differences between the Red states and the Blue states, and that the only question left is how you divide the country up to avoid Civil War. (Or, possibly, to ensure it.)
Of course, once you accept the basic premise and start considering how it might work, you’ve already pretty much given up on saving the country and our democracy — which seems to be the point of this particular doomsday scenario.
Marjorie Taylor Greene’s personal Twitter account is closed; the tweets are history, but the screenshots and the stories about them are still there to be read. Why does it matter now?
Because there was a recent diary on the subject here, and though there was some pushback, neither the diarist nor many of the commenters seem to have realized that this is indeed both an RWTP, and an insidious piece of propaganda. Whose propaganda? Well, RT.com seemed to think very highly of the idea, too. (Check the link at the end.) But of course, that’s a wholly circumstantial inference on my part.
On October 11, 2021, Marjorie Taylor Greene posted a survey on Twitter, on whether her followers thought America should “have a national divorce.”

Here’s a screenshot of her 12/29/21 Tweet
If you can’t see the tweet, here’s a link to the screenshot.

Russia Today isn’t unhappy with the idea, either. From 7/15/21:
66% of Republicans in southern US & nearly half of West Coast Democrats want to secede from country as division grows
Support for secession in the US is unlikely to fall any time soon, with Bright Line Watch noting that the numbers have risen in the past six months since the January 6 storming of the Capitol by Donald Trump supporters in protest at President Joe Biden’s election.
I just thought you’d like to know.
