abcnews.com. AG Garland had a press conference today. I thought what he said deserved attention.
A visibly animated Garland twice stated that "no person" is above the law during a press conference when pressed specifically about Trump, whom Democrats say incited the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection over his unfounded claims of widespread voter fraud in 2020.
"There is a lot of speculation about what the Justice Department is doing, what it is not doing, what our theories are and what our theories aren't, and there will continue to be that speculation." The Attorney General said.
"That's because a central tenet of the way in which the Justice Department investigates and a central tenet of the rule of law is that we do not do our investigations in the public."
AG Garland had more to say about this, I didn't want to abuse the fair use rule. This is in line with what has been said all along, nothing has changed. This will hopefully help to allay the lack of confidence that some in the public have concerning the Jan. 6 investigation.
I think this is great news, I am very happy with what AG Garland had to say today.
I trust the Judgement of President Obama, and of President Biden, who both chose this man. The more I think about this press conference today, the happier I am.
