Good morning folks, happy Friday! This week got totally discomboobalated because of this stupid injured leg. Instead of getting groceries on Bit’s day off we ended up in the ER. So now we have to squeeze groceries in this afternoon (if we didn’t manage it Thursday afternoon). I also had 6 seizures this month, up from two a month for the past few years. Pain is a trigger for me, so at least it’s explainable.
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!
IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!

I just wish the doctor.. well nurse, I never actually saw the doctor.. at the hospital listened better. I told them that I had been taking Aleve for over a week but it was getting worse not better. So they look for a blood clot, don’t find one (not surprising to me, I didn’t have any symptoms of a DVT besides pain), and so they send me home with a prescription for Naproxen.. which is.. Aleve. And the dose of the Naproxen is *lower* than the amount of Aleve I’ve been taking for it. I guess the war on prescription pain meds kicked me in the behind there, never mind, I rarely use them.
They did say that they saw the inflammation from the injury on the ultrasound. Which is saying something because they did the ultrasound on the inside of my leg and the injury is more on the outside. They also wrote me a note that I could go back to work on Wednesday, even after I told them I’m disabled and on disability. So yeah, more proof that they listened *really* well.
So here I sit, with my thigh swollen, the back of my knee swollen, and the calf muscle spasming in sympathy. I take my pain meds and go back to bed for an hour so they have time to kick in, or I can’t even tolerate sitting at all. All the pain means I’m also taking more Flexeril because if I don’t, I’ll start having seizures, and I don’t really what to imagine what a seizure is going to do to this injury.
I had a very high pain tolerance, but that’s FUBAR now, because of Fibro and FND. Pain triggers the FND symptoms, and being in chronic pain has messed up my pain tolerance. And apparently no one wants to help any of it get any better. I didn’t go to my doctor because her practice advertises as NO pain meds given. The best they do is Naproxen. That’s why I went to the hospital in the first place, because Naproxen isn’t doing anything, it’s not really lowering the inflammation even. So now I guess I just deal with it and hope it heals. And really really hope I don’t have another seizure because of the pain, because that’s going to mess it up SO much worse.
I hope your week has gone better, and you have a great weekend.
