Happy Friday! not much going on today. Bit works 7-3 today, so short shift for her! They also hired a new maintenance guy, so no more coming home with her white button down shirts turned black from cleaning the broiler either. A combination of Dawn and Oxyclean seems to get the worst of it out, but she still had to replace several this past week.
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!
IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!

Public school here went back on Wednesday. WAY too early IMO. But we celebrated “not back to school day” on Tuesday (because she worked Weds). It’s a home school tradition where you have a small party on the day that public school goes back (or some do it on their own first day of homeschool) when you don’t start school yet. We never started before labor day, unless she was bored and asked to start early. That did happen a few years. We had pizza and ice cream (sugar free for me), and watched some TV together (we have a few series we follow, including Ghosts).
Fun video: Make sure you watch the bloopers at the end LOL.
Honestly, I miss the searching for curriculum choices over the summer, and getting the lesson plans ready. I miss researching videos to go with the topics we’re studying as well.
I know most of you have grown kids at this point (hard to believe I do too). What were your back to school traditions?
