[Nota bene ~ this wasn’t the planned post for this morning. I just couldn’t finish the one I promised myself I would get done. It happens—more often than I would like to admit, I believe—when I try to tackle a topic that is hard enough to understand much less explain. Like love or quantum physics.]
The music this morning matches a little of my mood and a little of what I want my mood to be—if that makes any sense. Maybe “Almost Blue” is the perfect title for a song and this warm Friday morning. One stray (Bobbie-Jean) has come by to have a morning snack and is now lying doggo at the foot of the short steps down to the patio. We’re all ready for a bit of relief from the heat and moisture and languid movement of air and breath.
Work’s been good, though. My boss came back a day late (his initial flight out of Alaska to Seattle was cancelled) and was pleased to find the place hadn’t been burned to the ground and the staff sacrificed to the gods of labor. Although, I always get this sneaky suspicion that he’s just a tad disappointed he isn’t totally missed when he takes vacations (which is not often) or that his time off wasn’t interrupted by calls about some crisis only he could handle. We all want to be crucial, I guess. Wanted and verging on the irreplaceable. But none of us truly are.
On the good news side of things, I finally got around to taking a look at the Dyson vacuum my sister was throwing out and I took. One of those light-weight, cordless models (the V11 for those of you who are Dyson fans like me) that she was throwing out because it was “beyond broken.” It wasn’t. Anyway, got around to fixing it and now I am the proud owner of a new/used vacuum that works like a charm. I suspect I’ll need a new battery in a year or so, but for now it works about as long as I want to vacuum at any given time.
Other good news is my second coffee is ready, so I will leave you here and enjoy a few sips and a smoke before this thing goes live. Have a wonderful Friday and let’s keep our focus on staying healthy and unburdening ourselves of the dust that clutters our lives and sometimes dulls the shine.
