In Wisconsin’s Governor race—which shapes voting rights in the tipping-point electoral college state—we’re showing voters how radical the GOP candidate is. It’s working.
Read on, chip in, and share!
Tim Michels is the GOP nominee for Governor of Wisconsin. The core of his whole primary campaign was Trump’s endorsement—which he got by championing a near-total abortion ban, AR-15s for 18-year-olds, and subverting election administration.
Now, Tim Michels wants to forget his radical positions—because he’ll say anything to win. But it won’t work, because we’ve got the receipts, and we’re not afraid to use them.

Tim Michels was ultra-MAGA before it was a thing.
Wisconsin saw it last time he ran (and lost) statewide—in 2004. At the time, he said it was “not unreasonable” to force rape survivors to birth their attackers’ children. He reaffirmed that view this year.
In 2004, Tim Michels opposed the freedom to marry the person you love. In 2022, he’s confirmed that he still opposes marriage equality. And he hasn’t disavowed his claim that LGBTQ+ people shouldn’t “bring it out of your house and onto the public street…”
Michels supports 18-year-olds buying weapons of war—without background checks or waiting periods. He wants to eliminate the safety training requirements for concealed carry. He wants to allow loaded guns on school grounds. Red alert.
In Wisconsin, the governor certifies the election result. Michels was asked: if Trump loses in 2024, would he certify the result?
Tim Michels refused to answer.
This is profoundly dangerous, authoritarian stuff.
Since winning the nomination, Michels has tried to change his image. His ads no longer mention his divisive positions or attack our neighbors, and—suddenly!—have stopped mentioning Trump. He even took Trump off his website, but was embarrassed into putting him back.
Since the moment he announced his candidacy, we’ve been working to ensure that voters know all about Tim Michels and his radicalism. Now, we’re ratcheting up that effort—and will keep communicating until the polls close. The evidence is all right there on tape.
As we’ve communicated all over Wisconsin about how dangerous Tim Michels would be as Governor, we’ve also been making sure folks see the opportunity to vote for someone who is actually doing the right thing: Governor Evers.
For years now, we’ve been spreading the message statewide to ensure that people know Evers’s record of doing the right thing for all of us. He’s paved roads, invested in schools, signed a 15% middle-class income tax cut, and championed health care and broadband access.
Our organizers and volunteers carried the message at the doors and on phones about the ways Gov Evers is doing what’s right for Wisconsin families. In fact, we never stopped organizing after the 2020 election. WisDems runs a year-round program.
As a result of Gov Evers’s great work and the efforts of many people to communicate about it, Wisconsinites know that he’s on their side. They trust him, and know that he cares about people like them.
The polls have us up in the governor’s race—but it’s gonna be close. Expect a photo finish.
It’s what we’ve prepared for all along. Because this is Wisconsin, and that’s how things are here.
This race matters not just for Wisconsin, but for the whole country—because Wisconsin has been the tipping-point state in both of the last two presidential elections.
The Governor race this fall will determine the future of democracy in Wisconsin and the country.
As goes Wisconsin, so goes the nation.
With the stakes this high, we know the GOP will do absolutely everything they can to win this race. It’ll take all of our efforts to ensure that we prevail.
We have to expect that there will be ups and downs in the next 69 days till November 8. The GOP will try to divide and distract at every turn.
We’ll bring the focus back to making Wisconsin a state that works for everyone. Help us do it.
And, of course, the Gov race isn’t the only massively important battle on the ballot.
We’ve gotta replace Ron Johnson with Mandela Barnes. We must reelect our Attorney General, Josh Kaul. And we’ve got critical House, state legislative, and county races. A lot!
This is Wisconsin. We’re the land of the microscopic margins of victory. We have to organize like we’re one point behind—and can win only by doing absolutely everything. We know the stakes. Chip in now and let’s move.
Wisconsin is the firewall between the GOP and total power.
Help us fund the important work it takes to fight back.
