Update: The Raw Story article on Trump as a foreign agent.
First, I apologize to JecklnHyde if I stepped on his topic. I try not to do that. Two reasons this time: 1) I didn’t see his, and 2) I always try to include political linkages whenever posssible, and this time it is beyond possible, to probable.
The topic in the “Update” noted above is part of that.
My theme here is Trump as a destroyer of America. I started a separate dciary, but will link the two ideas:
We are now in a war for the fate of America. The bad news is we cannot win entirely by Election Day. The good news is that we can TELL THE STORY to a degree that will get many more Americans to question Trump’s behavior—and observe his lins to religious extremism. “Raw Story” does a terrific job of laying out answers to questions that have been floating around for over 6 years, demonstrating that:
— Trump DOES NOT have the best interests of America at heart;
--He is, in effect, a foreign agent; and
--His function as a foreign agent has been helped, mightily, by the Religious right, whose goals are so narrow (pro-life, Christian Nationalism and Dominance by the wite race), that Trump can pretend to be on “their side” with spectacular success.

When Trump is finally revealed as an agent of foreign governments will America wake up?
It’s time to tell the truth about Trump: he’s been an agent of organized crime and foreign governments for decades. And he’s continuing his work for Putin, Xi, Erdogan, and
MBS — undermining Americans’ faith in democracy — to this day.
Czechoslovakia’s Státní bezpečnost (StB) first started paying attention to Trump back in 1977, as documented by the German newspaper Bild when the StB’s files were declassified, because Trump married Czech model Ivana Zelnickova, his first wife, recently buried on his golf course in New Jersey.
Czechoslovakia at that time was part of the Warsaw Pact with the Soviet Union, and Ivana and her family had been raised as good communists. Now that a Czech citizen was married into a wealthy and prominent American family, the StB saw an opportunity and started tracking Trump virtually from his engagement.
As 2016 and 2018 investigations by The Guardian found:
“Ivana’s father, Miloš Zelníček, gave regular information to the local StB office about his daughter’s visits from the US and on his celebrity son-in-law’s career in New York. Zelníček was classified as a ‘conspiratorial’ informer. His relationship with the StB lasted until the end of the communist regime.”
Last year’s investigative reporting breakthrough by Craig Unger for his book American Kompromat led Unger to Uri Shvets, a former KGB spy who’d been posted to Washington, DC for years as a correspondent for the Soviet news agency TASS.
Shvets told the story — from his own knowledge — of how Trump and Ivana visited Moscow in 1987 and were essentially recruited or seduced by the KGB, a trip corroborated by Luke Harding in his book Collusion: Secret Meetings, Dirty Money, and How Russia Helped Donald Trump Win.
I hoped the connection here is clear. To repeat: His function as a foreign agent has been helped, mightily, by the Religious right, whose goals are so narrow (pro-life, Christian Nationalism and Dominance by the white race), that Trump can pretend to be on “their side” with spectacular success.
My bottom line: I suspect that Burns would not entirely agree that 1939-1944-version antisemitism is the same as what is going on now. Whether or not he does, it’s in there: Christian nationalists don’t care about anyone but their own, and Trump took full advantage of that in his hypocritical support for their three main topics.
