The Jan. 6 committee’s hotly anticipated hearing on Wednesday will now be delayed due to Hurricane Ian, a massive storm quickly bearing down on Florida.
The rescheduled date will be announced in the days ahead. According to CNN, part of the reason why the committee opted against meeting Wednesday was because of committee member Rep. Stephanie Murphy’s availability. With her state preparing for the hurricane, the Florida Democrat would be unable to attend the hearing in person if held Wednesday.

Citing sources familiar with the committee’s plans for its next hearing, The Washington Post reported that the final hearing is expected to focus on how former President Donald Trump intended on declaring victory in the 2020 election no matter the true results.
Viewers of the next hearing should also expect to see video footage of Roger Stone, the GOP operative and Trump darling. The footage was captured by Danish filmmakers and catalogs the days ahead of the insurrection at the Capitol. In the clips, Stone reportedly discusses what was coming for America after Trump lost the election. His predictions included violent clashes.
