Country music star Marren Morris dared to speak out on behalf of vulnerable and marginalized trans folks, and of course, Fox News host Tucker Carlson decided to try to throw her name into the mud during a recent segment of his show. Carlson had Brittany Aldean on his Fox News show where she promoted her “Barbie-inspired” T-shirts and sweatshirts that say (I kid you not) “Don't Tread On Our Kids.” Sales are allegedly being donated to a charity that combats human trafficking but specific sales numbers haven’t been released yet.
What does this clothing line have to do with Morris? Well, Aldean decided to use a video of her putting on makeup to make a jab at parents who support trans youth by making a snide remark about how she’s glad her parents didn’t make her transition when she was a “tomboy.” Morris and others rightfully called out the transphobia in her Instagram caption, but Aldean only doubled down. From there, Carlson sunk his teeth into the situation and, of course, took the side of transphobia by decrying Morris as a “lunatic.”
Morris turned right around and put Carlson’s insults onto a shirt of her own and included the phone number for the TransLife Line. She says they’ve made $100,000 in just one day.

Aldean really doubled down on her hate even in addition to the initial post. For example, in an Instagram story, she went on to add: “Advocating for the genital mutilation of children under the disguise of love and calling it ‘gender-affirming care’ is one of the worst evils. I will always support my children and do what I can to protect their innocence.”
She went on to compare a child being trans to them wanting to be a cat, adding: "Some parents want to be accepted by society so badly that they’re willing to make life-altering decisions for their children who aren’t old enough to fully comprehend the consequences of those actions.”
Again: Transphobic, misleading, incorrect, and going out to a considerable platform. It’s irresponsible, it’s sad, and Carlson was apparently quick to have her back after she was rightfully called out by Morris.
“It’s so easy to, like, not be a scumbag human?” Morris posted on Twitter, adding that Aldean should “Sell your clip-ins and zip it, Insurrection Barbie.”

This is Carlson’s segment.
Morris got the final win, however, when she took the “lunatic country music person” right from Carlson’s mouth and put it on a T-shirt along with the Trans Lifeline phone number. Morris says she sold $100,000 worth of those T-shirts in one day alone. That money, according to Morris, is going to be split between the Trans Lifeline and GLAAD’s Transgender Media program.
