Running for political office varies from state to state but pretty much anywhere you have to get signatures from registered voters in the district you wish to represent. (Note the petition above in the candidate's hand.)
Terrence Walker needs something like 125 signatures to qualify as a candidate. Which means he better get at least 300 to 400 to be on the safe side.
I can remember our own Angela Marx running for office in Washington state and it seems like she had to get thousands of signatures and pay a lot of money to qualify.
Here in TN, you need 25 signatures to run for anything. So, I do hope you’ll all support me in the upcoming election for dog catcher!! In the meantime, let’s help out Terrence Walker!!
How can I help, you may be asking yourself? Well, you could send this article to everyone you know and ask them to send it to everyone they know and see if we can’t get it to the people in Virginia’s 81st district. There aren’t really 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon, there are only about 3, so we will reach Terrence’s district by spreading this around as wide as we can.
Terrence gets a lot of signatures in his daily walks on the Capital Trail.
Virginia has very lax rules about donating to candidates so anyone in the US could donate a million to his campaign. And that would be lovely, feel free! But there is another thing that counts big in our crazy world of politics. That’s tons of small dollar donors from all over, so don’t think your $2 donation doesn’t count. It counts big time!
Please donate if you can, even if $2. The $1 and $2 donations that come from all over the country are actually the most valuable.
