Peculiar Provision Preferences
For decades Thanksgiving was our family’s biggest holiday, and we shared it with family, friends, and even friends of friends. We would always cook one turkey in the oven and BBQ one outside, the latter for a packet of meat for each family to take home. Most of the guests would bring a dish, and with some planning a complete Thanksgiving meal would manifest. Everyone had free choice as to which foods they chose to eat. There might have been some vegetarians back then, but...who knew?
🎶 There’s been a change in the weather, a change in routine 🎶
To provide a meal for guests has become more complicated. A host must consider: food allergies, vegetarian vs. vegan, lacto-ovo , plant-based, ketogenic, paleo, Whole30, gluten-free, kale, alcohol intolerance, butter-free, or (actual complaint) the shape of the noodles.
Perhaps the solution, if one wishes to have dinner guests, is…...”bring yer own food; we have dishes”. “Oh, no, I can’t eat from ceramic dishes, I must have wooden bowls.” “Stainless steel utensils? No, I only use silver.”
Well, there’s always restaurants.
In any case, I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving meal…..however it occurs.
