This is a quick diary that I will post when there’s no other Bucket in the queue. I’ve spent most of my life admiring green trees reaching for the sky. This diary is dedicated to other objects that do likewise, and make interesting subjects for photography.
THE DAILY BUCKET IS A NATURE REFUGE. WE AMICABLY DISCUSS ANIMALS, WEATHER, CLIMATE, SOIL, PLANTS, WATERS AND NOTE LIFE’S PATTERNS.
WE INVITE YOU TO NOTE WHAT YOU ARE SEEING AROUND YOU IN YOUR OWN PART OF THE WORLD, AND TO SHARE YOUR OBSERVATIONS IN THE COMMENTS BELOW.

Sometimes trees are involved too. Last summer I stopped in downtown McCall, Idaho to buy some produce at their weekly Farmers Market. Looking up, I saw this pairing of clouds and conifers.
Trees are reaching for the sky. The clouds are already there.
Going back to the farm for a moment,
Wooden windmill, Courtland, Kansas. Look closely to see the crescent moon in the spokes of the wheel.
Here’s a spire in the making, also in Kansas. There’s no telling what you might have to wait for on the highway!
The main tube of a windmill being transported in western Kansas. Seeing windmill parts on a truck gives a greater appreciation for their size.
Back to the forest,
Conifer snag in Idaho, approximately 20 years after a forest fire. The precariously balanced upper part serves as a reminder not to stand near snags, especially on windy days.
Fire tower, Grand Rapids, Minnesota.
And back to the farm,
Anderson County, South Carolina.
Now it’s your turn. Tell us what is going on in your part of the world, whether you are looking up, down, or inward.
