I/P: A Question You Should Ask Yourselves

I was devastated to hear about the 10/7 attacks by Hamas on Israel.  The Israeli government responded quickly.

As the days dragged on, I felt even more heartsick when I saw what was going on in Gaza.

Israel has a right to exist.  Israel has a right to defend itself – especially since the attack by Hamas was absolutely heinous.  Why am I feeling more heartsick every day?

Imagine this:

An elementary school in a large town.  One day, a maniac comes into the school and shoots 55 young children – indiscriminate, brutal slaughter.

The police respond quickly and corner the shooter.  But he is shielding himself with a girl, to the point where the police cannot take him out.  The girl is his sister.

Here is the question everyone should ask themselves:

Would you shoot through the girl, killing her, in order to kill the shooter?
