By now you’ve read about Elon Musk’s comically embarrassing demand to his developers that they bust ass to make sure his tweets—and his alone—get seen by all of Twitter after his Super Bowl tweet got fewer eyeballs than Joe Biden’s. Turns out, one of the possible reasons why Musk’s tweets aren’t getting exposure is that so many people are so freaking sick of him that they’ve blocked his account.
What a great idea! I just blocked Musk myself, and you should, too. Here’s a link to his account:
https://twitter.com/elonmusk/
Just click that link, then look for that round button with three dots inside:
On the menu that pops up, just select the delightful option to “Block @elonmusk.” (If you really want to stick it to him, mute him first, then block him.)
Now, according to Platformer, which first broke this story, Musk’s engineers created a system that could boost their boss’s tweets “by a factor of 1,000.” If masses of people blocking Musk cause his engagement to drop again, those devs will surely just amp up that boost. But at the very least, if they have to do it, it means we’ve made Musk bitterly unhappy once again. Tell me that’s not worth it!
