Even if by some horrendous confluence of events, Trump manages to win the Electoral vote in 2024, he cannot be sworn in as President.
The swearing in of the President involves an oath of office, in which the President elect must swear, “To preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States”.
Trump has gone on record, via his Tweets, that he will not defend the Constitution.
“Do you throw the Presidential Election Results of 2020 OUT and declare the RIGHTFUL WINNER, or do you have a NEW ELECTION? A Massive Fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution,” Trump wrote in a post on the social network Truth Social and accused “Big Tech” of working closely with Democrats. “Our great ‘Founders’ did not want, and would not condone, False & Fraudulent Elections!”
By saying this, it is my opinion that, Trump will not do anything to preserve, protect or defend the Constitution and is now on record as attacking that very same Constitution. How can he possibly reconcile his statement with the oath of office he will be required to take?
